Preaching on what Pastor doesn’t want to preach about.
Heather Davis Nelson wrote:
10. Shame is not discussed often enough in the church. . .
1 John 1:9 explains how we deal with sin (in Christ).
Guilt and shame are not the same thing.
Some of us have shame for nothing we have done. . .
Have you been ashamed for. . .
Pastor has.
Maybe Pastor IS a jerk.

Sickness, physical and/or mental. . .
certainly mental. . .
Check our Genesis Chapters 2 and 3. . .
A lot of shame for people comes from
a state of being, not an action.
That is why the New Testament insists that we
are not who we think we are. .
Rather we are beloved of God, forgiven, we are
made God’s children through Jesus,
heirs of the Kingdom, citizens of heaven—
these are our real states of being
. . .these are who we really are
We are not inadequate or stupid, or ugly or
jerks—not in our inmost being.
A relationship with Jesus Christ by faith heals us
of shame, bringing freedom. Part of Jesus’s mission
on earth was to release captives from their prisons,
and what a prison shame can be!
Revelation 12:10
. . . For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night. . .
Claim today’s Bible verse of the day
to overcome thoughts of shame.
Amen.
