You Say the Devil MADE You Do It? (Luke 21:31-34)

From last week: survival tip for Christians in a hostile world;
remember your training and trust it.
Some are following their training—the wrong training.
Make sure you have certified trainers.
Keep reading the Bible. A Bible reading church is even
better than a Bible-believing church.
Satan would SIFT the disciples.
“Satan demanded to have you all . . .”
Satan had Job. (See Job 1:12 and Job 2:6 )
Satan would tempt and test.
That is what Satan did to Job.
We hope and pray that this verse means nothing to us.
What else is Satan up to? See 1 Peter 5:8.
Lion facts. . .
According to the Mountain Lion Foundation,
do not run!
Ephesians states: STAND!
Ephesians 6:10, Ephesians 6:13-14

The devil is the real enemy of a Christian believer.
Satan’s agenda is to separate us from God.
(Again Job 1:11, Job 2:5, Job 2:9, Job 2:10)
Satan is called “The Tempter” (Matthew 4:3, 1 Thessalonians 3:5).
Temptation is usually personal.
--stay away/out of slippery places/situations
STAND! Keeping standing with ALL the armor of God.
See ESV James 1:14.
It is YOUR OWN desire.
WHAT TO DO with these desires?
--don’t be impulsive / be restrained and slow in response
--consider reality
--remember your over-arching goal(s)
1 Corinthians 10:13 is about temptation (not problems).
The verse does not promise that you won’t be tempted
beyond your ability to bear it—you just might be AND
a way out will also be provided.
DCC prays every week 9Lord’s Prayer):
Matthew 6:13
“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”
Remember:
1. Trust your training.
2. Put on the armor of God—all of it; keep standing.
3. If you think you might slip and fall, don’t go there.
4. A way out will be provided; look for the EXIT sign
5. Be alert. Test the spirits.
6. Pray the Lord’s Prayer.
More from Jesus on Satan, next week. Amen
