We—especially Americans--are fascinated
by origin stories; ours, others, even the orgins
of the things in our houses.

The children of Israel were adopted, were they not?
The Bible uses the word chosen:
121 times, more than 80 of them in the Old Testament.
You and I, like the children of Israel,
were CHOSEN.
(Ephesians 1:5)
Hear how John’s Gospel book uses
the word chosen:
With regard to Jesus himself, John 1:34.
With regard to the 12, John 6:70.
See also John 13:18, John 15:19.
See also the 2nd Letter of John.
Google the topic “the love of God”
or “the love of God” (Christian).

Love—a relationship of love requires at least
TWO persons.
Some argue for the eternal presence of three
persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Either way, the love that the Heavenly Father
enjoys, He wanted for His creation (us).
We, therefore, are living in the overflow of
God’s love.
We were made to enjoy this relationship.
Even through trouble or pain or illness. . .
God’s love remains and God’s love abides.
See John 9. Let us not be blind to this love.
There are many words the Bible writers
use to describe our relationship to God
(Jesus)—
love, grafted, adopted, born again, called,
chosen, redeemed, even clay to THE POTTER
(2 Corinthians 4:7)
The Book of Hebrews reminds us (Hebrews 4:16)
Jesus knows the hard times and pain.
Jesus has shown grace for us to approach
the throne of grace. (Hebrews 4:14)
Do not hesitate to go to that throne of grace
in those times and ANY time. (Matthew 7:7-8)
Amen.
