A follow up to our Advent and Christmas
DECLARATIONS. . . Jesus was BORN. .
The birth was just the beginning of the fulfillment
of scripture: Luke 24:24, Luke 24:27, Luke 24:44
. . .and YOU will be my witnesses
(Acts 1:8)
Jesus declared the fulfillment of his
mission in public in worship
in the town of Nazareth Isaiah chapter 61.
We have looked at these declarations in DETAIL. . .
The prisoners are NOT political prisoners. . .
prisoners of evil forces. . .demons. . .mental illness
. . .addictions. . .sin. . .The Apostle will say
Acts 8:23 For I see that you are full of bitterness and
captive to sin.”
The Apostle Paul will say: Romans 6:20-22
“set free from sin.”
How did people respond to the Messiah’s
actions (shepherds: Luke 2:20)
The Bible shows that when people
experience the Messiah, they praise God:
Luke 5:25, Luke 17:15, Luke 18:43
Did they go to synagogue to praise God?
Remember the shepherds who heard the angel’s words.
Ever done that?
Ever wanted to do that?
Is the Pastor unfair to Midwesterners/Hoosiers?
Jesus DID say, let your light SHINE. . .
Matthew 5:16
The purpose is to glorify God.
Then OTHERS will glorify God.
Have we been a blessing to others?
That was the promise through Abraham. . .
this was what the Messiah would do—not only
be a blessing but make us blessings for others.
A few times Jesus DID say, “don’t tell.”
But those were temporary instructions.
Jesus last words were “go, teach, make disciples.”
Mark 5:19
Spreading the good word is NOT saying
Jesus every other word.
1 Peter 3:15
From Pastor Dave Barringer lead pastor at Kalamazoo
First Assembly of God in Michigan. . .
Whether you use Facebook or Face to face,
this is what you can do to help spread the
good news concerning Jesus the Messiah.
1. Ispire hearts. . . Hebrews 3:13:
“encourage one another daily”
Even one word can be an encouragement
to others. (And where did the word come
from? The short answer is “the Bible.”
You don’t have to know chapter and verse
to share the word.
2. Bring a Smile – Proverbs 17:22
3. Give Some Hope – Colossians 1:27
God has chosen to make known the glorious
s riches which is Christ in you—the hope of glory.
You too can give others hope in Jesus’ name.
Fulfillments of the word of God’s promises
to us for a Messiah. . .
