Gary McManus, 04/12/2015Part of the New Life series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
1 Corinthians 11:23ff, Galatians 1:12, Acts 9:4ff,
Acts 22:7ff, Acts 26:14ff
Only Christians can be expected to be motivated
to be followers of Jesus the Christ.
It was in the media yesterday. . .
In the news. . .
“20-year-old Topeka man was arrested. . .”
He was quoted as saying, “killing Americans
was permissible because the Koran “says. . .”
Living to please Jesus as a Christian
is VERY DIFFERENT than other people’s lifestyles.
Personal relationship with Jesus and
living to please the Lord. . .
HAVE a relationship with Jesus AND
live to please the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 2:9-14,
1 Corinthians 7:32,34, Ephesians 5:10, Colossians 1:10,
motivated for Christ, motivated for Jesus,
“sanctified” / “holy” = being set aside
A No. 1 issue (with this group) = sex!
Church members need to be chaste.
Sexual freedom destroys community.
Love each other CHASTELY.
following Jesus DETERMINES how you live.
Even our grieving is different.
