The Church Invincible (Revelation 17:12-14)
Gary McManus, 10/26/2014Part of the DCC Basics series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
All Saint’s Sunday (All Saint’s Day, November 1)
Here at DCC we want you connected.
--connect to Jesus
--connect to Jesus’ church
--connect through worship
Church is a connection to the TEACHING of the Bible.
Church is a connection to the teaching of the church.
The worship is also a part of that teaching.
WORSHIP services are an EXPRESSION
of what we believe.
Pastor NEVER preached on this:
the victorious church; the church triumphant.
Let us first acknowledge the present situation.
(from Rev. William Einwechter)
. . .Things may look bad for the church of Jesus Christ.
But that is NOT today’s message.
Today’s Bible verses show the church TRIUMPHANT.
Jesus promised that the church that Jesus built
would prevail (Matthew 16:8). NOTHING can defeat
the church of Jesus Christ.
.. not even Satan and not even hell.
(Ephesians 3:10-11) God intended to work through
the church for God’s eternal purposes!
See 1 John. 5:4.
See 1 Corinthians 15:51 through especially vs 57!
No matter what happens to us in our time,
—we stand with the church of Jesus Christ.
We have a PLAN to make a stand.
We have a PLAN to STAND!
1. A desire to continue to stand for Jesus.
2. A desire to continue to stand for the teachings
of God’s Word, the Bible.
3. A desire to continue to do Jesus’ ministry
to help others.
4. A desire to continue to WORSHIP the Lord
(and invite others to do so).
See 1 Corinthians 15:58
Consider the saints who have gone before us.
What would they want you to know NOW?
They endured difficulties we’ve never heard of.
See 2 Corinthians 4:14(13-18)),
1 Thessalonians 4:17.
The sermon continues next week; the preview:
God does not dole out His Spirit in proportion
to the size of the church
God does not view a smaller church
as an inferior church.
The size of the congregation may be
small but God IS glorified!
Christ has given US the victory.
