A Dead Girl and a Sick Woman (Mark 5:21-43)

Bible verses that helped me help you.
God’s Words that were life to me.
The Word of God is LIFE.
[Deuteronomy 32:47, Psalm 119:25,37,107,
John 5:24, 6:63,68, Philippians 2:16, 1 John 1:1 ].
God’s Word isn’t just valuable or a good guide.
God’s Word brings life as we see again today.
“A Dead Girl and a sick woman”
Jairus is pleading for his daughter’s life.
Jairus knew that Jesus could heal but
there was urgency since daughter was dying.
A sick woman; an UNCLEAN woman.
Jesus was on an emergency run for Jairus.
Then, Jesus has come to a complete halt.
The woman’s faith makes her whole/well.
Her faith is her salvation.
Now comes really bad news. . .
Then these same men added. . .
”Why bother the teacher any more?”
Ever been there? Ever been told,”It’s final!”
The Bible just flat out says that Jesus ignored
what these men said.
Jesus spoke to Jairus and said, “Don’t be afraid;
just believe.”
Is is THAT simple?
Believe? Believe what?
One must wonder what went through Jairus’
head. “Made well?” She is dead!
Jairus in this moment must be in a very dark place. I don’t know how hopeless your situations ever were. Jesus, in speaking to Jairus, draws Jairus’ attention to Jesus. And that is the key. To put it rather crudely—it isn’t over until the Lord says that it is over.

“Immediately the girl stood up and walked.”
The girl was alive again AND she was well.
Notice that Jesus does this with his words.
God’s Word brings life. Keep focused on Jesus.
NEVER lose sight of Jesus. Whenever it seems
that the situation is all over, “Don’t be afraid,
just believe.”
Jairus could hang in there with Jesus.
But Jairus really didn’t know what Jesus would
and Jairus didn’t know what Jesus COULD do.
Neither do we. We SAY God can do anything.
Easy to say in general. Tough to believe in death.
Jairus just walked the rest of the way to Jairus’
house with Jesus. Jairus WENT with Jesus.
GO with Jesus just like Jairus did.
You can keep your eye on Jesus.
Wait for Jesus if you have to wait.
Walk with Jesus if you have to walk.
Go with the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
