Matthew 5:1-16
Sad stories of people you never heard of
. . .may have heard of. . .
and some you have heard of.
Would this. . .could this happen to you?
The Bible suggests that the real problem
is that we think we know what will make us happy.
(Not a pleasant thought.)
Jesus said, Blessed are the meek. . .etc.
DO children know what makes them happy?
Consider. . .
. . .I’ll be happy when. . .
money?
organized?
vacation?
kids in school? out of school?
Graduation?
Different job? New job? Divorce?
New spouse? No spouse?
Our lists of what makes us happy
are not clearly stated.
We are not good judges of what
will actually make us happy. . .
It has been true over 2,000 years.
We start thinking we know what makes
us happy as children. . .

Got life’s necessities? What is next?
Our Lord Jesus said. . .
We must believe and understand that when
Jesus spoke to the rich young ruler one day
(Mark 10:21-22)
What WILL bring us new life?
Remember Genesis 3:6 (Adam and Eve)
Maybe you and I SHOULDN”T rely on
our own judgment.
MAYBE, we should rely on God and
Jesus’ judgment.
Jesus said, you want eternal life. . .follow me.
John 16:28 and John 16:33
LIVE believing in Jesus. .
.LIVE and do not choose death. Believe in Jesus.
Amen.
