A TIme for Looking Back PTL (Galatians 6:8-10)
Gary McManus, 01/08/2017Part of the God's New Year series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
Galatians 6:8-10 (p. 1155 / p. 1171)
A happy and blessed new year to all!
Psalm 65:11 (HSCB):
You crown the year with Your goodness;
Your ways overflow with plenty.
We reckon our years by the birth of Jesus
(give or take a few years).
B.C. = Before Christ
A.D. = (Latin for) “in the year of our Lord”
“Anno Domino”
Time for the DCC Annual Report.
That is good. Two reasons:
1. Churches, generally have poor memories.
2. Helps us focus on what we ARE doing
(instead of complaining about what we
are NOT doing).

And that was just December, 2016!
The Apostle Paul reminded us. . .
Galatians 6:9
And in our affirmation (Titus 2:11-14)
Jesus Christ, gave himself for us (in order)
to redeem us [from all wickedness]
and to purify for himself a people
[ that are his very own,] eager to do what is good.
The Apostle also said,
“let us not be weary in doing good.”
We will always have the poor.
(Matthew 26:11, Deuteronomy 15:11)
Therefore, there will always be work to be done
—pace yourself in doing good so you can continue
to do good and serve the Lord.
Jesus wants us to be fruitful for him.
(John 15: 8)
Praise the Lord for what the Lord IS
accomplishing through us at DCC—
what will bring our Lord glory.
Amen.
