What We Believe--You Said It!
Since 2011, DCC has used a statement of our beliefs in
worship. Pastor McManus believes that it is one of the most
important things we do in worship (he includes that Sunday's
belief statement in the sermon recorded for the website).

Affirm Your Faith
There are three reasons to KNOW
what you believe.
1. Our God wants a relationship with us
(See Hosea 4:6, 6:6, Jere,oaj 9:24)
2. Our beliefs move our actions.
(See Luke 6:49, John 5:24, 6:63, vs 68)
3. Then we can speak truth.
(See John 1) and deal with the enemy.
(Galatians 1:7, Galatians 5:10,
1 Corinthians 14:33, 3 John, 1 John 1:6,
Luke 4:4).
The Word of God is a part of the armor of God.
(Ephesians 6:10-17).
But it isn’t enough for us to believe in God
and know what we believe EXCEPT that
what we believe leads us.
(Hebrews 10:24, Titus 2:10-14)
Today from Titus 2:14 states. . .
Satan, our enemy knows what he believes.
The Muslims of ISIS also know what they
believe. And some destructive Christians
know what they believe (wrongly).
Jesus said that it is by their fruits we shall
know them. (Matthew 7:16)
Jesus warned of false messiahs (Matthew 24:24).
The Apostle responded to those so called
Christians in 1 John 2:26:
I am writing these things to you about those
who are trying to lead you astray.
I AM WRITING TO YOU. . .the written word!
God’s word can help keep you close to God.
John 14:6: “I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Our beliefs comfort us (Philippians 2:8).
You want to know what you believe.
Amen.
