Spiritual eyes (Luke 4:14-30)

We return to the topic of seeing spiritually.
Isaiah 6 is a fantastic scripture.
Who else in the Bible has seen God?
But what did Isaiah actually see?
Does it matter?
A vision? Active imagination?
Isaiah certainly EXPERIENCED
the living God as he stood there in the temple.
Does the “star of Bethlehem” have to be a
star? Will a planet or comet do?
Isn’t the important thing that the wise men
saw it and knew what it meant—
the birth of a King?
They followed and FOUND Jesus.
So was it a star? Does it matter?
Who remembers Magic Eye?
(autostereograms)
Seeing 3D images by focusing on
2D or flat patterns on paper or screen.
It takes a little self training.
Spiritual seeing is like that.
How many times does our Lord Jesus say:
those who have eyes LET THEM SEE.
[See Matthew 13:16ff, Luke 10:23 ff.;
Jesus asks the disciples in Mark 8:18.
And what happened on the road to Emmaus,
Luke 24:31.]
John 9:30-40
The apostles (2 Corinthians 4:18,
Ephesians 1:18) and even the risen Jesus
(Revelation 3:18) want the church to SEE!
The word Magic Eye is already taken.
Spirit eye?
That we may TRULY SEE?
Do we need salve? Do we need to PRAY?
Or do we simply need to train our spirit eye?
Isaiah asked the question and still asks:
The Lord is doing a new thing.,. . do you not see it?
Isaiah 43:19 Isaiah saw. Amen
